MEMBER INVENTS NEW TRAINING AID
USGTF Level III member Rob Ruley, from Holland, Ohio,
creator of the Pro Swing Station training aid, demonstrated and
promoted his device at the recent World Golf Teachers Cup in
Orlando, and received several endorsements from his fellow teaching
professionals. Earl Coley stated, “A teacher’s pro guide. Eliminates
putting down clubs, excellent for maintaining ball position, and a
great tool for teaching and learning basic setup.” Grant Gulych, who
plays a fade, said “Even I can draw the ball” after using the Pro
Swing Station. Dave Belling remarked, “I really like it for
achieving great setup positions and for its multiple uses. And, I am
quite picky when it comes to training aids.” For more information on

BACKJOY
LIVES UP TO ITS NAME
Golf professionals and avid golfers are notorious from
suffering from back pain. The Backjoy® back orthotic delivers on its
promises of providing perfect back posture while sitting down.
Members of the USGTF National Office staff were very impressed.
Membership services director Jennifer Russakis said, “I use it every
day. It gives me good posture and extra support for my back. At the
end of the day, my back feels as good as it did at the start of the
day.” One staff member reported that the sciatic nerve pain he often
experiences while driving his car completely disappears while using
the Backjoy. There are also potential benefits for a golfer’s game.
Bing Howenstein, owner of Backjoy Orthotics, said that the Backjoy
engages core muscles, which are important for a golfer’s swing. The
Backjoy can be used in virtually any chair and has the unqualified
endorsement of the USGTF National Office staff. More information can

UV
SKINZ GOLF SHIRT OFFERS SUN PROTECTION
Most golf shirts allow a fair amount of the sun’s UV rays
to pass through. Not the UV Skinz golf shirt. This shirt offers a UV
sun protection factor of 50, meaning 98% of the sun’s UV rays are
blocked. Made out of nylon, the shirt possesses a tight weave that
prevents the sun’s harmful rays from passing through. One member of
the USGTF National Office staff remarked, “I tried it out on a very
sunny day. The shirt was not only very comfortable, but it stretches
when I swing. Sometimes ordinary golf shirts catch on my left arm
when I swing, but I have no worries about that with the UV Skinz
shirt.” The shirt was developed by Rhonda Sparks, who lost her
husband to skin cancer at the age of 32. Because of his passing, she
stated, “I decided my life’s mission would be to raise awareness
about the disease anyway I could.” For more information, please
