Never before has there been a
match play national championship open to all golfers, both
professional and amateur. The United States Match Play Championship®
will be held this coming May 7-11, 2012 (Monday through Friday). The
event is open to all golfers, both professional and amateur, as well
as all USGTF and non-USGTF members. This truly is the fi rst
national match play championship tournament ever held in the United
States.

FIRST
PLACE: $4,000 (based
on full field of 100)
FORMAT:
(Based on full field of 100 golfers.) 36 holes of stroke play
qualifying May 7 and 8. Top 16 advance to match play. Ties for 16th
place will be broken by sudden death playoff. Those finishing 17th –
30th will receive $250, except that prize money for ties for 30th
place will be split.
SCHEDULE:
May 7: 18 holes, stroke play
qualifying.
May 8: 18 holes, stroke play qualifying. Top 16
qualify for match play.
May 9: Morning – round of 16 matches.
May 10: Morning – quarterfi nals.
May 11: Morning – semi-fi
nals. Afternoon – finals.
PRIZE MONEY BREAKDOWN:
Champion: $4,000 Runner-up: $2,000 3rd – 4th: $1,500
Entry fee includes:
range balls prior to play and all tournament rounds. A 3% surcharge
($7.50) will be added for those paying by credit card. A $100
withdrawal fee will be charged to those withdrawing prior to the
entry deadline. There will be no refunds issued for withdrawals
after the entry deadline.
