The USGTF is the largest organization of golf teaching professionals in the nation. The aim of the USGTF to train and certify well-qualified instructors to serve the American golfing public. As the industry grows at a record pace, there continues to be a need for qualified, personable golf teaching professionals.
Attaining your certification has never been more convenient. We offer both online and in-person certification courses. The online option allows you to become an Associate Member, and you may complete the course at your own pace. The in-person option allows you the opportunity to become a Certified Golf Teaching Professional®, and includes hands-on training, and personal interaction with an experienced USGTF Master Golf Teaching Professional®. These four-day certification courses are held throughout the United States year round.
Teaching golf, the Profession of a Lifetime®, offers you many opportunities in the fast-growing golf industry. Our members currently hold positions as head professionals at both private and public country clubs, golf schools, driving ranges, indoor facilities, as high school and college coaches, and as self-employed teaching professionals.
Every area of the game is comprehensively covered, so you will feel comfortable in both the written and teaching aspects of attaining your certification.
Certification courses are also held in Europe, Canada, Asia, South America, South Africa and Australia. Together these nations make up the World Golf Teachers Federation. When you complete one of the courses successfully, you become a member of the United States and World Golf Teachers Federations and receive a membership card and certificate. Plus, you are eligible to take advantage of the many benefits that are available exclusively to all members of both entities.
