Summary of Position
Bunker Hills Golf Club is a premier destination nestled in beautiful Bunker Hills Regional Park in Coon Rapids. It features a fully stocked golf shop, Seasonal Golf Simulator Center featuring 4 state-of-the-art golf simulators, PGA/MGA Hall of Fame, 410 person banquet center, Family Grill and Bar.

We are seeking candidates for the Assistant Golf Professional position. This position will assist with collecting, depositing, and monitoring daily fees. Assists with scheduling and implementing leagues, tournaments, and events using the golf facility. Responsible for the upkeep of golf cart fleet and cart bar and assists with supervising and training temporary seasonal workers. This position will average 40 hours per week during the golf season and 25 hours per week during the off-season and is eligible for health benefits and pro-rated vacation accrual.

This position will be open until filled, with priority given to those candidates that apply by August 9th.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with collecting, depositing, and monitoring of daily fees.
Assists with scheduling and implementing leagues, tournaments, and events using the golf facility.
Assists with supervising and training temporary seasonal Pro Shop Workers and Golf Facility – Outside Service Workers.
Assists in management and marketing of golf simulator operations.
Assists with growth of the game and junior golf programs.
Assists with the cleanliness of clubhouse, clubhouse grounds, and golf course.
Changes out water coolers, when required.
Follows oral and written instructions such as supervisor’s work orders and equipment operation manuals.
Provides effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
Maintains positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions and outside agencies, and the general public.
Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions described herein.
Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Abilities
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Thorough knowledge of the game of golf.
Ability to teach and play the game of golf.
Ability to work cooperatively with City personnel, external vendors, and the public.
Ability to perform duties with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
Ability to be detail oriented and follow through with tasks.
Ability to maintain a team and service oriented approach to work.
Must have the ability to accept criticism or discipline.
Must strive to promote a cooperative atmosphere in the department and exhibit a positive attitude.
Qualifications and Other Information
MINIMUMS:
Thorough understanding of the game of golf.
Registration and good-standing in the PGA of America.
Post-secondary education with emphasis in business or recreation preferred. 5 years of golf operations experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

PREFERRED:
Experience with scheduling tee times, tournaments, and handicap software and project creation preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or keyboards; speak intelligibly, hear and read.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently move, turn, lift and carry objects weighting up to 90 pounds. Examples of lifting and carrying requirements include but not limited to supplies and replacing 10-gallon water jugs in the water coolers.
The employee is frequently required to move tees and benches, and pick up garbage.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision and depth perception.
Must be able to operate assigned equipment.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties performed will include outside work in climatic weather, including temperature shifts and wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. This position works closely with others. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
