Eagle Harbor Golf Club is set amidst a forest of 60-foot pines. The 18-hole Course, designed by award-winning course architect Clyde B. Johnston, features rolling Bermuda grass fairways, multi-tiered TifEagle Greens, and both grass and fine, white sugar sand bunkers. The Club offers a state of the art practice facilty and is located in a well established community.

Job purpose

Basic function is to manage the daily business, management and programmatic functions of the golf operations and to create and maintain a vibrant Golf Experience for Members, guests and staff. The ideal candidate possesses a true love of the Game and enjoys sharing that love with others, she or he takes pride in fostering Team Member’s growth and creating a healthy, happy work environment. This is a salaried position with full benefits including paid time off. This position has additional income possibilities from lesson income to commissions on tournament and outing sales. PGA Annual dues paid by Club.

Duties and responsibilities

Participate in the responsibility to hire, train, direct and supervise all golf shop, cart, play coordinator and other outside Staff as per guidelines and service standards.
Assist in preparing weekly employee schedules and bi-weekly payroll summaries. Adjust actual schedules to ensure efficient use of employees.
Solicit, organize, prepare and conduct tournaments. Includes past and new client base with contact sheets forwarded to the General Manager for review.
Assist in the adherence of the Operational budget.
Attend and participate in weekly department and other periodic employee and member meetings.
Plan, organize, manage and supervise daily play as per Golf Manual.
Create a positive, attentive professional service environment in all golf departments.
Maximize tee sheet capabilities and revenues, i.e. market analysis to ensure rates are properly positioned,
Assist in soliciting memberships, tournaments, and outings.
Manage, control and accurately maintain inventory. Ensure financial inventory totals are accurate, while maintaining projected cost of goods percentage.
Create a positive, attentive selling environment to members and guests. Utilize merchandising techniques and prompt merchandise sales such as holiday and regular interval promotions.
Conduct daily facility walk through to ensure the facility is safe and presentable and that courtesy and efficiency are being exercised throughout. See Golf Manual for guidelines.
Participate in the formulation of the annual and seasonal Club Marketing Campaigns and promotions.
Prepare, organize and maintain the club?s Calendar of Events by communicating with the Course Superintendent, General Manager, Men?s & Women?s Golf Association and the Hampton Golf Marketing Department.
Protect the assets of the Club.
Operate within all guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
Provide club orientation to new members as outlined by Club policy.
Participate in member golf activities with and provide golf instruction and clinics to members and guests.
Maintain membership with the LPGA or PGA of America.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Two years of experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

PGA Class A Certification

A desire to be a part of a vibrant and growing mangement company with great potential for upward mobility.

Working conditions

Work is primarily indoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements

Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitor and develop subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas and write and read member communication.

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs., up to 20 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping. Ability to consistently lift, carry and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.

Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf’s Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
