Job Summary:
This position assists with the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising all outside staff, assisting with tournament management, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Responsible for promoting the game of golf and for providing a welcoming atmosphere to the course. Responsible for providing quality service, overseeing and assisting with the golf shop operations, which includes providing friendly customer service throughout the pro shop, checking in golfers, accurately ringing up charges at the register and properly checking in all golfers prior to play. Also, making sure that all standards of operation are being met, which includes proper cash reconciliation procedures, maintaining proper control of the tee sheet, including walkups and pairings, and assisting with the organizing and set-up of all Club Tournaments and Outings. Overseeing all aspects of outside golf operations staff, to assure proper performance while following all daily procedures and policies, including marshal/starters. Responsible for inventory controls, checking-in merchandise in accordance with procedures, organization of storage and display areas. Keep up inventory levels of constantly stocked items and responsible for all special orders. These are a few examples of the position responsibilities and are subject to change.

Relationships:

Daily contact with members of own work unit and immediate supervisor, club members and members of the general public.

Responsibility for Final Decisions:

Work is performed independently. On routine work, non-routine issues or questions, refer to the supervisor.

Reports To: Head Golf Professional

Work is performed independently except where the interpretation of law, policy, rule, complex procedure or request for exception is required

Qualifications

Education/Skill Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

PGA Level I Certification Required

Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a valid South Carolina drivers license.

Basic computer skills including Word and Excel are required.

Work Conditions:

Work is performed in a retail shop environment as well as outside.

Work is performed outside with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, dampness, rain, dirt, chemicals, and fumes.

Work requires bedding and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
