Job Title: Golf Teaching Professional

The Golf Teaching Professional is primarily responsible for promoting the game of Golf to all members. This includes offering outstanding instruction for individuals and groups during private lessons and at clinics. This role works closely with the Head Golf Professional to design and strategically implement advanced teaching styles that increase our Membership’s interest in the game of Golf.

Job Tasks/Duties

Uses professional judgement and expertise to recommend teaching and learning content that is catered and customized to our Membership’s needs.
Schedules lessons and communicates those schedules to staff in the Golf department daily.
Coordinates and teaches clinics on a weekly, monthly, or semi-monthly basis.
Provides competent Golf instruction to all skill levels, adjusting teaching style as needed to the benefit of the player.
Oversees, as needed, club fitting using Trackman Technology.
Identifies and suggests new methods of teaching, leveraging technologies and unique resources to improve Golf play at the Club.
Teaches all learning levels across many demographics including, men, women, and children; ensures that lessons are executed above expectations for all.
Establishes and maintains communication with students regarding personal instruction by e-mail.
Maintains open communication with the Membership, seeking feedback regarding the Golf instruction program.
Implements changes based on constructive feedback provided by Members and Guests.
Creates lesson plans, communicates plans to appropriate stakeholders, and is responsible for the successful execution of those plans.
Understands and promotes adherence to Golf course rules and regulations.
Attends teaching and/or management seminars to continue education during the season and summer months.
Strategizes with the Head Golf Professional, offering suggested operational improvements, new programs, tournament opportunities, and enhanced teaching techniques to ensure the Club’s Golf operations remain the best in the industry.
Fulfills all other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional and traditionally performed by a Golf Teaching Professional in a private Club.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or a combination of work experience and education in a related field is ideal.
A minimum of fifteen years’ experience playing golf at a semi-professional or professional level; with at least ten years of professional golf teaching experience being required.
In combination with the above, must have at least five years’ experience teaching golf in a private country club.
Must possess an active PGA membership.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Must be professional, friendly, and have the ability to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Prior experience working clinics involving all age groups.
Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and or reach throughout an 8–10-hour shift.
Able to push, pull or lift up to 80 pounds.
Continuous repetitive motions.
Able to work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
Able to withstand outdoor weather conditions during FL winter months.
COVID-19 Precautions

The Club has taken the recommended COVID-19 precautions to include requiring regular cleaning, social distancing, and face coverings being worn by employees at all times. Additionally, employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and maintain a current vaccination status prior to beginning employment and all employees will be required to show proof of vaccination. Employees may be subject to periodic COVID-19 testing as required by the Club.
