This is a key position and second in command within the
Golf Course Maintenance Department. Works directly
with the Golf Course Superintendent to develop a daily
work schedule and coordinate the related activities
and necessary equipment for the overall maintenance
of the greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and grounds at
the Palatine Hills Golf Course. Training, supervision
and reviewing of golf course employees along with
supervision of projects and specific maintenance
activities on the golf course and club grounds, fall under
the Assistant Superintendent’s duties.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• Associates Degree in Turfgrass Management,
Horticulture, or related field, or combination of turf
certificate and experience.
• Two (2) years prior work experience in golf course
management or field related to turf management or
horticulture.
• Obtain and maintain State of Illinois Pesticide
License within six (6) months of employment.
• Valid State of Illinois Class “D” driver’s license
