Position Summary: Organize, instruct and supervise the grounds maintenance of IMG Academy Golf Course.

Position Responsibilities

Organize employees to perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: general golf course maintenance, golf course cultural practices, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation
Clubhouse and golf course landscape maintenance and installation
Supervise, manage, and motivate employees on a daily basis
Educate employees in a safe and productive manner
Maintains tools and equipment
Other essential tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Turf Degree or Certificate
Minimum of three years in a supervisory position on a golf course
Proven maintenance/knowledge of southern grasses (e.g., ultradwarf bermudagrass, various hybrid bermudagrasses)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to develop/evaluate/explain a budget
Knowledge and understanding of various irrigation systems and troubleshooting
Knowledge and understanding of chemical and fertilizer applications
Experience using turf grass maintenance equipment or other landscaping equipment
Demonstrated experience with landscaping installation and maintenance
Progressive experience with employer
Ability to work outdoors 365 days a year
Ability to perform routine maintenance repairs
Working knowledge of Word and Excel
Must have or obtain Florida Pesticide License within 90 days of employment

Preferred Skills

Certified Golf Course Superintendent
Bilingual
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40-70 lbs.
Ability to work in all weather conditions
The department may require weekend and evening work
The employee will be working on a campus and will be required to move within the campus, both indoors and outdoors
The employee will be expected to be active throughout the majority of the day, and therefore requires high levels of energy
The employee will be bending, pushing, pulling and twisting throughout their regular work duties
The employee will be working on mechanical equipment throughout their regular work duties
