ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Assistant Golf Course Supervisor, the job responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
Provide general labor and support in the completion of daily tasks in relation to the Golf Course or other property needs as determined by the Golf Course Superintendent or by the Property Manager.
Follow all safety rules and procedures communicated by the Property Manager.
Possess knowledge of turfgrass management on MiniVerde Ultradwarf, or similar Ultradwarfs, and 419 bermudagrass.
Handle the operation, maintenance, and repair of turfgrass mowers, top dressers, sprayers, bunker rakes, greens roller, etc.
Handle the operation and maintenance of small, gas powered, tools- weed trimmer, blower, chain saw, edger, hedge trimmer etc.
Assist the Superintendent all cultural practices pertaining to the golf course- fertilizing, aerification, verticutting, topdressing, and integrated management practices.
Possess knowledge of golf course irrigation systems set up, controls, maintenance, and repair.
Assist Manager with the tractor operation and management practices for quail, dove, deer, and other upland nongame species.
Transport owners and guests as well as dogs and horses as needed.
Assist with landscaping around main and guest house areas that may include use of operation of lawn mowers, gas powered and hand tools.
Operate and maintains the ATVs and UTVs.
Assist with hunting operations, horses, and dogs.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

This position is often required extended hours on weekends and holidays, especially from November through April.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in turfgrass science is preferred, but not required. Verified work history and experience will substitute for education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If positions require the operation of a vehicle, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company’s insurance carrier.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must adhere to Company policies and procedures, which are included in the Company’s Employee Handbook.
The employee must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.
The candidate may be subject to undergo pre-employment drug test, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work). Random drug tests are given throughout the year.
The employee must have a personal vehicle to travel from work location to local town for personal needs.
