News Channel 3, an ABC/CBS/FOX affiliate in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sports/News MMJ/Anchor to enterprise local sports stories.
Come to the Coachella Valley to cover sports from world-class tennis and golf to high school and community competitions. The right candidate will be ready to cover general assignment news as assigned.
Job Description:
The Sports/News MMJ/Anchor will report and shoot five days a week for the Sports and News Department at KESQ News Channel 3 and assist in daily sportscasts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Produce and anchor weekend sportscasts
Prepare, produce and present local stories on-air and online
Work with Sports Director to establish and execute sports segments
Establish contacts with local coaches and high schools
Tell compelling and captivating local sports stories
Fill-in Anchor when needed
Work a flexible schedule
Must be self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field
1 year related experience
Skills in shooting, editing, and online multimedia publishing
