Each month the USGTF features an individual profile of a teaching professional who excels in his/her profession. If you would like to be featured, please submit your photo and brief profile to jenn@usgtf.com. By John Copeland – I completed my Level III certification with the USGTF in 2003. Upon my retirement in 2008, after completing 30 years in education and ten years as a middle school principal, it has been my honor to serve as the golf instructor at The First Tee of Lakeland, Florida. The First Tee mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing a learning facility and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Additionally, our facility provides group and private lessons for adults. We are proud of our new nine-hole facility, which includes two short-game practice areas and a full-service lighted driving range. The USGTF provided me with the opportunity to continue my passion, the education of our youth.
