Michael Charles Just, the president of Louisville Golf Company, passed away on Sunday, October 2, after a courageous battle with advanced prostate cancer. He was 66. Just joined his brothers at Louisville Golf Company after leaving his post as a high school teacher. Together, they created some of the finest persimmon-headed golf clubs in the world for several companies, including Ben Hogan Golf.
A reluctant work trip became his life’s passion when he played hickory golf for the first time. Just spent years creating authentic replicas of old hickory clubs, making the game accessible to many, and building a new legacy for Louisville. He became known as the “Van Gogh” of hickory golf and was awarded the Tom Morris Sr. and Keeper of the Spirit awards by his friends and colleagues. He will be greatly missed.
